rbu Sunrise Over Angkor

(Edited by American Poet/Author Greg Bem)

Sunrise, auspicious time, over Angkor,
Tourists with cameras in their hands, yonder,
Take the pictures – beautiful scenes – and more,
And spread through internet the world over.

The Sun’s popping out his visage – smiling
From the East on top of the main tower
As Lord God with blessings is conveying,
To welcoming faces at the Wonder.

To faces of the tourists – welcoming,
And say: “Angkor, the work of Khmer!” greeting
Nine centuries back built this heritage
The top architecture in Image

Seeing Angkor in person with plain eyes,
“How spectacular!” uttered your feelings.
And as Gods of Angkor helps you to rise,
All your soul seems engulfed in Springs.

Like a wish to be reborn here next life,
To ride this golden disk of Universe,
And have time to relax all the strife,
Stay with Angkor Gods, lots to converse.

You’ll wonder built up huge stone blocks,
And what Khmer artists sculpted stones,
Like carved fruits ornate, temple rocks
Built with the Diamond Heart and Golden Bones

Of mathematical application,
With an incredibly clear-cut vision,
Answering astrology images
Like the heavenly messages.

That was the way Nokor Temple was built –
Not with metal or stone stilt.
Its robust columns are all its own walls –
Making it unique en genre with its halls.

O, Nokor Wat! I’d like to see you more
I will, of course, come to watch encore,
And at least once – once more – before I die
Sure, I‘ll come to pay you my last good-bye.

(Nokor Wat is the initial and official name of Angkor Wat)
