It's totally the same as a Khmer proverb:
"ឃ្លានឆ្ងាញ់ ស្រឡាញ់ល្អ"/khlairn chhnganh srolanh la'o/
Meaning:"Hunger begets deliciousness,
Love makes beauty."
Any food tastes delicious,
When eaten while hungry.
Falling in love with someone,
Makes you see him/her pretty
